School Activities  

A Small Step But A Giant Leap Towards Perfection

School being the formative years of a child’s personality requires overall development focus. Besides academics we aim to create an environment that encourages pupils to develop qualities of self-discipline, organization, motivation and enjoyment of working together that makes them confident and competent member of society. A systematic endeavour is drawn up for multifaceted development of children through participation in the following clubs.

Quiz Club

In the ever-growing world of exploding knowledge today it is necessary to keep in touch with the latest. Be it in the sphere of science, arts, entertainment, sports, technology, geography or new discovery about historical facts, one needs to keep pace with all new areas of knowledge.

The newly formed quiz club aims at reinforcing team work, boost confidence, encourage and strategic thinking and light the fire for knowledge Quizzing is used as a fun and interactive tool to spread knowledge among the student community. It also aims at encouraging our children to imbibe the qualities of curiosity, inquisitiveness and to quench their insatiable thirst for knowledge. This facilitates the quizzing teams to participate in various levels of competition starting from Britannia quiz to Heritage quiz and so on, and get the exposure and platform to better their abilities.

Debating Club (English/Hindi/Odia)

It integrates spotting talents and grooming students on listening, speaking, reading, and writing as well as in grammar and vocabulary. Students are given basic foundations in speech presentation in any given congregation any time in life.

Science Club

Students with scientific temperament are provided a platform to join hands and enjoy experimenting in the laboratories. Research oriented projects are undertaken under the guidance of science teachers. Various science organizations, institutions and programmers are regularly visited by our future scientists (students).

Heritage Club

Our heritage club has been introduced with the purpose of creating awareness, preserving and promoting our varied and ancient culture & tradition among the young learners. Various activities conducted by the club enables them to appreciate the tradition, culture and religious diversity of our country.

Eco Club

The club aims at creating environmental awareness among the future generations through eco friendly activities. Students are motivated to keep their surrounding green and clean by under taking several activities like Swachh Vidyalay, plantation of trees, street plays. Our aim is to sensitize students to minimize the use of plastic bags and protect and preserve the environment.

Cultural Club

The club intends promoting the cultural activities which meet the diverse needs of our students. Various activities like singing , dancing, drama and instrumental  music are organized with a purpose of giving platform to our students to exhibits their latent talent.

House System

The students of the school are divided equally into four Houses, namely, RIG, SAMA, YAJUR, ATHARVA through an organized distribution formula to get proportionate potential groups, so that a friendly competitive spirit prevails among the students round the session in CCA and Sports Activities. Each house is headed by a House Master with the support of some house teachers. A powerful student wing is selected as discipline prefects and a potential student leader is chosen as House Captain, who is supported by four Vice Captains for each house. The school cabinet consisting of house captains, Vicecaptains and discipline prefects is headed by a Head Boy and a Head Girl.

Except the Tiny Tot Group, where the competitions are held class wise, all other groups compete as part of their Houses among the students of their group.

Note:

  • A student from Std-I to X can participate in three selective competitions throughout the session for which he/she is to submit a duly filled option form to the class teacher within a week of the circulation of the calendar.
  • The House Masters will select the participants for Inter House Competitions.
  • All are encouraged to participate in Mass Competitions.
  • All KG students are required to participate in all chalked out activities and competitions.

Annual Exhibition

Keeping in view the latest trend in CBSE curriculum which emphasizes upon activity based learning; students prepare several projects in Science & Technology, Mathematics, Social Science and even in Languages which carry 20% weightage of the total marks in the subjects. Exhibitions of these projects in the above mentioned subjects along with Art & Craft dot the entire academic session. The virtuoso display of projects / models and charts by the students get appreciation and acknowledgement by alluring prizes.

Inter House Weekly Activities

All the four Houses share the responsibilities of performing the following duties in a cyclic order headed by House Master / Mistress, a group of teachers and respective House Leaders.

  • To conduct the Morning Assembly
  • To collect and prepare news of International, National, Local, Sports and Weather report and also write the "Thought of the Day" on the board. A speech is to be delivered on the topic of public interest, preferably based on the importance of the day, if any.
  • To help in maintaining discipline during the recess period, dispersal and arrival time.
  • To be proud of one's own House and School.
  • To contribute effectively to the beautification of the school.
  • To extend their best cooperation for maintaining discipline during functions.
  • To arrange special assembly on occasion of the important days of National and International repute.

Philanthropic Activities

Prompted by their humane feelings the staff and the students of this school have often taken lead roles at the time of emergency. It has been the nodal center of relief distribution at the time of devastating Bhuj Earthquake, Super Cyclone, recent Floods and other natural calamities. This is nothing but a manifestation of our students' deep faith in humanitarianism. The school organizes voluntary Blood Donation Camp every year in collaboration with Red Cross Society of India.
